In 1997, Kate Walsh, Dr. Addison Montgomery from "Grey's Anatomy" and now "Private Practice", made her first television appearance on the ABC comedy The Drew Carey Show, playing Nicki Fifer, Carey's overweight girlfriend. "They basically flew me out from New York [to L.A.] for about a five-minute meeting with Drew Carey," she said in 1999. "I took the chance and packed my bag for 30 days and ended up doing 11 episodes." So how much weight did she lose? None, she wore a fat suit for the role on "The Drew Carey Show".
