2007 Lake County YMCA Dreamhouse giveaway winner

Sunday, Aug. 19th, Barb Murphy's life changed. Barb bought a ticket to tour this fabulous $450,000 home this summer to help raise money for the YMCA of Lake County. Out of 68,000 tickets sold, Barb got a call saying she was picked as a top 20 finalist to win this home. When I asked Barb what her reaction would be if she won the dreamhouse, she said, "Oh my God, oh my God." About 15 minutes after I asked her that, her key opened the front door to the dreamhouse and guess what came out of her mouth? Barb's husband later told me she was just released from the hospital the day before after heart surgery. I asked her how she was feeling and she replied, "Just fine now!" God bless her!

The Lake County Humane society is in desperate need of help!

Help Lake County Humane Society get a new van!
A collection jar at work, collecting your change at the end of the day, the kids setting up a lemonade stand....just some suggestions on how to help raise money for the Lake County Humane Society. They do so much for the homeless animals in Lake County and they desperately need a new van to transport animials. http://www.news-herald.com/site/index.cfm?newsid=18612592&BRD=1698&PAG=461&dept_id=21849&rfi=8Can you help?

What great fun we had at the Barrington Napa Classic!

This was Saturday night, Aug. 11th at Barrington Country club in Aurora at the Barrington Napa Classic, a benefit for the Western Reserve Historical Society. I so look forward to this event every year! Lots of great food, wine, you get to ride in a bunch of classic cars from the museum and a huge fireworks display at the end! You can see how much my friends Ed and Connie Babcock from the Junction Auto Family in Chardon enjoyed the event! Ed and Connie are really GOOD PEOPLE, as I say in the commercials! They do so much for the community, including one of my favorites, Rescue Village, the Geauga County Humane Society! It was a night I'll remember for a long time! Pictured at the top are Ed and Connie, my friend and co-worker, Renee Slattery and her adorable husband Bob (aka...Barbie and Ken), and me and my husband Jeff.
